Philippine women's tennis player Alexandra "Alex" Eala reflected on her breakthrough 2025 season, while also looking ahead to 2026 with a thirst for achievement.
"I'm very proud of myself and what I've achieved. I'm also grateful to my team for all the effort they've put in. I'm happy they're seeing the results, and I can share that happiness with them too," Eala said, as quoted by the WTA on Thursday.
The 20-year-old defeated three Grand Slam champions, including Iga Swiatek, en route to the semifinals at the 2025 Miami Open. Her first title, and the first for a Filipino tennis player, came at the 2025 Guadalajara 125 Open.
Eala also became the first Filipino tennis player to break into the top 100, and then the top 50 in the near future, in the WTA rankings.
However, Eala admits that she has many things she wants to achieve by 2026.
