The 2025-2026 Spanish League Cup, or Copa del Rey, has entered its second round, which will be held midweek, from Wednesday to Thursday morning WIB. The second round will pit top and second division clubs against lower division teams.
In this single-leg knockout competition, a number of La Liga and Segunda División (Spanish League 2) teams will travel to the headquarters of lower division clubs to compete for tickets to the next round.
The second round of the Copa del Rey still offers the potential for surprises, especially for top-division teams who will face clubs from the third and fourth tiers. The winners of this round advance to the round of 32, which will feature Spain's top-tier teams.
Several teams, such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Athletic Bilbao, who finished in the top four of the Spanish League standings last season, have not yet appeared this week because they will only join the round of 32 as participants in the Supercopa de Espana.
