Indonesian men's singles badminton player Jonatan Christie is wary of the varying characters and composition of his opponents at the 2025 BWF World Tour Finals, which he said will present different challenges.
"Some are young, some are older. For example, Chou Tien Chen, at 35 years old, is still competing, probably one of the most competitive players this year. His game hasn't declined much either," Jonatan said when met in South Tangerang on Thursday.
Jonatan believes that this year's competition will not only feature experienced players, but also young players who have shown significant progress throughout the season.
Names such as Kunlavut Vitidsarn (24 years old) and Christo Popov (23 years old) are part of a group of players who are considered to be able to provide different pressure.
Seeing this, Jonatan stated that every player has a great chance of becoming champion. He also doesn't want to worry about his own chances of winning.
"I never thought Christo would even make it (to the 2025 BWF World Tour Finals). With his performance last year, who knows, Christo could perform well this year. Then there's Li Shi Feng, Chou Tien Chen, and (Anders) Antonsen too. There's always a chance for me. I'll do my best," said Jonatan.
