Red Bull driver Max Verstappen won the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix at the Losail Circuit on Sunday local time, or early Monday morning WIB, forcing the determination of this season's world champion to continue until the final series.
Victory in Qatar saw Verstappen climb to second in the standings with 396 points, just 12 points behind McLaren's Lando Norris, who leads the world championship race.
This situation means that the determination of the 2025 Formula 1 world champion will take place at the final series of this season at the Abu Dhabi GP on December 7, where another McLaren driver, Oscar Piastri, also still has a chance because he currently occupies third place, only four points behind Verstappen.
At the Losail Circuit, Verstappen was able to put on a stunning performance to break the dominance of the McLaren duo who actually started the race from the front two grids.
Verstappen, who started from third position, immediately managed to overtake Norris who failed to start the race smoothly.
The race was intense as Verstappen tried to chase down Piastri for the lead.
