South African national team coach Hugo Broos emphasized that his team is not only focused on stopping Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush when facing Egypt.
The two teams face off in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Group B match at Ardar Stadium, Morocco on Friday at 22.00 WIB.
"We're not focused on anyone. The most important thing is the team," Broos was quoted as saying by ESPN on Friday.
"We all know how good Salah is, how good Marmoush is, Trezeguet and the rest of the players. They're a very strong team. Why should we focus on one player? We have to be ready to beat the team, not the individual."
Egypt opened their AFCON campaign with a 2-1 win over Zimbabwe on December 23.
Manchester City striker Omar Marmoush scored the equalizer before Liverpool star Mohamed Salah sealed the win for the Pharaohs.
