Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir advised athletes to use their bonuses from the 2025 Thailand SEA Games wisely.Erick said that the bonuses given by the government must really be saved for the future of the athletes.
"One billion is a lot. So, I think this is something I should be concerned about, not spending it all," said Erick Thohir while speaking at the Sports Editorial podcast in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Erick reminded that athletes have limited careers. Therefore, the bonus should be invested in assets, education, and health insurance.
"It's important to remember that an athlete's career doesn't last forever. So, every time they achieve something good, they need to start implementing a financial strategy," said Erick.
