Turkish Foreign Minister to participate in meeting on Gaza in the United States on Friday

A statement issued by the Turkish Foreign Ministry on Thursday explained that Fidan will participate in the meeting on Gaza, which will be held on Friday in Miami, Florida, USA.

The statement indicated that the meeting would be held with the participation of officials from the United States, Egypt and Qatar.

According to the statement, meetings will also be held on the occasion of the meeting to discuss other regional issues.

On Wednesday, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman announced that mediators would meet next Friday to develop a plan for moving to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

He said preparations were underway with the American side for a meeting of all mediators on Friday to outline how to proceed to the second phase of the agreement, without specifying the meeting's location.

On December 4, Trump stated that the second phase of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas would begin very soon, without specifying a date.

It is worth noting that on September 29, US President Donald Trump announced a 20-point peace plan to end the war in Gaza, which included: the release of Israeli prisoners, a ceasefire, the disarmament of Hamas, an Israeli withdrawal from the Strip, the formation of a technocratic government, and the deployment of an international stabilization force.

On October 10, the first phase of the ceasefire agreement went into effect, but Israel violated some of its provisions and delayed entering the second phase, citing the continued captivity of one of its soldiers in Gaza.

The agreement was supposed to end the genocide perpetrated by Tel Aviv over two years starting on October 8, 2023, which resulted in the martyrdom of more than 70,000 Palestinians and the injury of more than 171,000, but Israel continues its violations and its suffocating siege on the Gaza Strip to this day.
