"1244 violations since the truce came into effect"... New Israeli bombing of Gaza amid continued violations of the ceasefire agreement

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli artillery and aircraft shelled the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, while artillery targeted the eastern areas of the Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Witnesses added that Israeli occupation army vehicles opened fire with their weapons in the southern Gaza Strip, towards the eastern areas of Khan Yunis city.

Witnesses explained that these attacks occurred in areas still occupied by the Israeli occupation within the Gaza Strip, without any immediate information about casualties or material damage resulting from the bombing.

The Israeli occupation army continues to control the southern and eastern strips of the Gaza Strip, in addition to large parts of the north of the Strip, which means that it continues to occupy approximately 50% of the total area of the Strip.

The government in Gaza issued a statement on Thursday saying that the first phase of the ceasefire agreement saw only 24,611 aid trucks enter the Gaza Strip, out of 57,000 trucks that were scheduled to enter, representing a compliance rate of 43%, which contributed to exacerbating the humanitarian crisis inside the Strip.

The Government Media Office confirmed that Israel committed 1,244 violations of the ceasefire agreement in its first phase, resulting in the martyrdom, injury and arrest of 1,760 Palestinians since October 10, 2025, according to official data issued by it.

The office said that since the ceasefire came into effect until the morning of January 15, 2026, the Israeli occupation army continued to commit "serious and systematic violations" that constitute a violation of international humanitarian law and undermine the provisions of the humanitarian protocol attached to the agreement, according to the statement.

The statement added that these violations, which it did not specify, resulted in the martyrdom of 449 Palestinians who arrived at hospitals, and the injury of 1,246 others, in addition to 50 arrests.

Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect, Israel has killed 442 and injured 1,236 Palestinians, and has severely restricted the entry of food, medical supplies and shelter materials into Gaza, where some 2.4 million Palestinians live in dire conditions.

The Israeli genocide in Gaza since October 8, 2023 has left more than 71,000 martyrs and more than 171,000 wounded Palestinians, most of them children and women, and has destroyed 90% of the civilian infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated by the United Nations at about $70 billion.
