Conor McGregor shows off new training routine, hints at Octagon return

Championship (UFC) champion Conor McGregor has revealed his latest training video and stated that he is ready to return to the Octagon.

"I'm 100 percent, this is absolutely 100 percent. We came in here at 100 percent," Conor McGregor said during a training session in a video uploaded to YouTube channel TheMacLife, which was monitored in Jakarta on Wednesday.

McGregor, now 37, hasn't appeared inside the Octagon since suffering a serious leg injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. The injury required surgery and a lengthy recovery period, which temporarily halted his career.

After nearly three years out, McGregor was scheduled to make a comeback in 2024 against Michael Chandler. However, the fight was ultimately canceled due to a broken toe McGregor suffered before the bout.

Now, the former UFC featherweight (65.8 kg) and lightweight (70.3 kg) champion is once again heating up rumors of his return to the fighting arena.

The Irish fighter posted new training footage from the SBG Ireland gym, where he trains with his longtime trainer, John Kavanagh. The footage immediately garnered public attention and renewed speculation about McGregor's future.

In terms of preparation, McGregor currently appears to be training at a high intensity. In circulating training footage, he appears focused, actively throwing punch combinations, and moving agilely in the ring under the direct supervision of John Kavanagh.

McGregor has signaled his serious preparations for a return to fighting at the highest level. He emphasized that if he does return, he will be at his best.

"I'm going into this fight as 100 percent Conor McGregor. Not 92 percent! But 100 percent Conor McGregor," he said.
