Local sources said that Israeli forces stormed the town at dawn, accompanied by military bulldozers, and forced the homeowners to evacuate their houses before proceeding to demolish them.
The Israeli occupation authorities continue to carry out demolitions of Palestinian homes and structures under the pretext of “lack of permits,” at a time when Palestinians face difficulties in obtaining building permits.
According to the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israel carried out approximately 538 demolition operations during 2025, targeting nearly 1,400 homes and facilities, in an unprecedented escalation aimed at undermining construction and the natural growth of Palestinians.
In occupied Jerusalem, the Israeli occupation police continued for the second day a campaign called “Shield of the Capital” in the town of Kafr Aqab, north of the city, with the participation of hundreds of army and police personnel and in cooperation with the West Jerusalem municipality, to secure additional demolition operations of Palestinian facilities.
It claimed that the campaign aimed to “strengthen sovereignty and security,” while it was accompanied by widespread raids, road closures, and the firing of gas bombs, sound bombs, and rubber bullets.
Police indicated that the participants intended to carry out further demolitions, stating they would "enforce the law, including demolishing dozens of buildings," claiming they "pose a security threat to the area." Regarding the duration of the campaign, they added, "It is expected to continue in the coming days (without specifying a date)."
These violations come amid a continuous Israeli escalation in the occupied West Bank since the start of the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023.
The Israeli occupation army and settlers intensified their attacks, which included killing, arrest, house demolitions, forced displacement and settlement expansion, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 1,100 Palestinians and the injury of thousands, according to official Palestinian data.
