Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital (Wamenkomdigi) Nezar Patria emphasized that cybersecurity is a guarantee of personal data protection and the continuity of public services used by the public every day.
"Cybersecurity today can no longer be understood as a technical issue or simply a matter of handling hacking incidents," Nezar said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He conveyed this at the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) Executive Town Hall event in Depok, West Java.
He explained that cyberspace has now become a strategic arena that has a direct impact on public life, from administrative services, health, social assistance, to the democratic process.
“The main threat is not a spectacular, large-scale cyberattack, but rather the gradual erosion of the system’s sovereignty,” Nezar said.
