Dr. Galina Nefriozina, a neurologist, stated that headaches in children are one of the reasons that require consulting a neurologist.

She says: "Currently, there are descriptions of hundreds of types of headaches, but parents and children often try to control them themselves using painkillers. They only consult a doctor when the attacks become frequent and do not respond to traditional treatment."

The doctor emphasizes that frequent headaches are often a sign of an underlying medical condition and require specialized diagnosis. Headaches may be associated with poisoning from infections and inflammations, nasopharyngitis, circulatory disorders related to cervical spine problems, and infectious brain diseases. Autonomic vasomotor dystonia is also a common cause of these symptoms in adolescents.

According to her, there are symptoms that require urgent medical attention, such as sudden severe pain, loss of consciousness, epileptic seizures, visual and sensory disturbances, high fever, and increased severity of seizures.

The doctor warns that self-medication and the use of folk remedies can mask the clinical picture and complicate diagnosis. She points out that modern diagnostic methods allow for timely identification of the cause of headaches and the selection of effective treatment.
