Europa League results and standings: Lyon finish first, Aston Villa second
The Europa League league phase concluded on matchday eight early Friday morning WIB.

All matches are held simultaneously and will determine the final standings, including which teams qualify directly for the knockout phase and which must continue their struggle through the playoffs.

Olympique Lyon and Aston Villa emerged as the top two teams in the league. Lyon secured first place after a 4-2 home victory over PAOK.

The Greek club had to play with 10 men from the 40th minute after Giannis Konstantelias received a red card, which the hosts made good use of.

Villa moved into second place after a dramatic 3-2 victory over RB Salzburg at Villa Park. The Villans trailed by two goals before coming from behind thanks to Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba's decisive goal.

This result means Lyon and Villa are both on 21 points, but Lyon have a superior goal difference.

Six other teams secured direct qualification to the knockout stages, including Real Betis, Porto, Braga and AS Roma.
