Indonesian men's singles badminton player Anthony Sinusuka Ginting has not set a target for the 2026 Indonesia Masters.
After returning from injury, Ginting admitted he wanted to focus more on maintaining consistent performance in every match.
"It's true that I've only just started playing at Istora again, so I'm not really thinking about targets. The important thing is to play my best in every match," Ginting said at a press conference at Istora, Senayan.
Ginting advanced to the main draw after defeating Thailand's Kantaphon Wangcharoen 21-12, 21-7 in the qualifying round of the 2026 Indonesia Masters.
Ginting revealed that his appearance in the BWF Super 500 tournament was somewhat sudden because he was previously on the waiting list for participants in the men's singles sector.
"Being able to play today is definitely a blessing from God. I was initially on the waiting list, but was told last minute that I would be playing. Regardless of whether I played or not, I was still preparing for the Daihatsu Indonesia Masters," said Ginting.
Although he last played at the 2025 French Open last October, Ginting revealed that he hasn't encountered any significant obstacles in his return to the court.
In the first round, the 2018 and 2020 Indonesia Masters champion will face Belgian singles player Julien Carraggi on Wednesday at 10:00 WIB.
