Hidden chambers… An Israeli platform republishes Western claims about the Egyptian pyramids

The Israeli platform "Kikar HaShabbat" republished claims that sparked widespread scientific controversy regarding the assertions of Italian and Scottish researchers about the existence of a huge network of tunnels and hidden chambers under the Giza pyramid complex.

The platform noted that an international team of researchers, led by Dr. Carlo Malamberg from the University of Pisa in Italy, and physicist Filippo Biandi from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, claimed that analyses using Space-based radar (SAR) technology revealed the existence of 8 spiral tunnels extending over 600 meters, connected to large cube-shaped rooms, which may be related to the "Amante Corridors" mentioned in ancient Egyptian texts.

The platform also quoted another researcher named Armando May, who claimed to have found three precise tunnels, equally spaced from the Sphinx and the pyramids of Khufu and Khafre, carved into limestone at a depth of 40 meters, reflecting the distribution of the three pyramids, which resembles the belt of the constellation Orion.

Egyptian authorities have categorically rejected these claims. Dr. Zahi Hawass, former Minister of Antiquities and former head of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, described the claims as "completely false," explaining that the researchers in question had never worked at the Giza site and that the technology they relied on was "not scientifically validated in the field of archaeology."

Egyptian sources confirmed that archaeological work in the Giza area is proceeding according to a precise scientific methodology, noting the discovery of a closed passage 9 meters long (not 30 meters) inside the Great Pyramid in 2023 using advanced technologies, including mobile robots and advanced detection devices.

Hawass revealed that in 2026 he will announce new results based on documented research that has undergone scientific review, and not on "unprofessional speculations".
