Israeli media reveals the expansion of the occupation army's areas of control along the "yellow line" in Gaza.
Haaretz added: "Three months after the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas (in effect since October 10, 2025), satellite images have revealed significant developments on the ground in the Gaza Strip."
She added: "These developments include the Israeli army reinforcing its positions along the borders of its area of control in the Gaza Strip, within the yellow line, which in some cases extends hundreds of meters into territory that is officially supposed to be under Hamas control."
She continued: "The images also show areas of destruction that have expanded since the ceasefire began, including the Jabalia area (north) and the Shuja'iyya neighborhood (east of Gaza City), both inside and outside the area under the control of the Israeli army."
The yellow line stipulated in the agreement separates the areas of deployment of the Israeli occupation army, which constitute more than 50% of the area of the Gaza Strip to the east, and the areas in which Palestinians are allowed to move to the west.
Haaretz newspaper noted that "the Israeli army controls about 54% of the Gaza Strip."
She said: "The latest satellite images were taken by Planet Labs, and an examination of them shows that after the agreement came into effect, the Israeli army reorganized and redeployed its forces, among other places, along the Yellow Line, which Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir recently described as 'Israel's new border'."
She added: "As part of this move, the Israeli army has established new forward operating bases in the areas under its control."
She added: “According to the British organization Forensic Architecture, from the start of the ceasefire until mid-December, the Israeli army established 13 new forward positions inside the Gaza Strip, including two large positions in the Jabalia area.”
The newspaper noted in this regard that "these sites, with their height and prominence in the landscape, provide a wide field of view, and their construction may have involved the demolition of buildings and the clearing of land, in addition to the use of heavy engineering equipment to create high earth fortifications from which the entire northern Gaza can be monitored. Palestinians have posted videos on the internet showing these sites."
The newspaper continued: "Satellite images also show that since the ceasefire, the Israeli army has continued to demolish hundreds of additional buildings in Jabalia, around the Indonesian Hospital."
She added: "Most of the destruction is concentrated on the Israeli side of the Yellow Line, as shown in official Israeli army publications, but it is clear that many other buildings have also been destroyed west of the line."
She pointed out that "the Yellow Line area is a constant hotspot of tension, witnessing shooting incidents and deaths, according to official data from the Israeli army and Palestinian testimonies."
She went on to say: "Since the ceasefire was declared, 449 Palestinians have been killed in various locations in the Gaza Strip, and 1,246 others have been injured, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. According to UNICEF, 100 of the dead are children."
On a daily basis, Israel violates the ceasefire agreement with Hamas that came into effect on October 10, 2025, resulting  in the deaths of 463 Palestinians. It also prevents the entry of the agreed-upon amount of food and medicine into Gaza, where about 2.4 million Palestinians, including 1.5 million displaced persons, live in catastrophic conditions, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health.

According to the newspaper, "The same (yellow) line does not appear continuously on the ground, as the Israeli army has placed large yellow concrete barriers, sometimes separated by hundreds of meters, to indicate its path."

She said: "Palestinians have witnessed that the Israeli army sometimes moves these checkpoints westward, into areas controlled by Hamas."

She added: “Analysis of satellite images shows a gap in different areas along the yellow line between the location of the yellow barriers on the ground and the location of the yellow line as described in official army publications, including the map published by the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit in Arabic for the residents of Gaza.”
