Some iPhone users are reluctant to switch to iOS 26, here's why
As many as 22 percent of adult iPhone users in the United States have not updated their iPhones to iOS 26 even though the operating system has been available since September 2025, according to a survey conducted by SellCell of 2,000 respondents.

As reported by GSM Arena on Wednesday, survey results showed that the main reason users have not updated their mobile operating systems is because they are not aware of the update.

Another factor that is often mentioned is the assumption that the iPhone will update automatically.

In addition, concerns about reduced battery life, the potential for slower phone performance, and the new Liquid Glass interface design, which is considered less attractive, are also considerations.

The survey also noted that 61 percent of users did not immediately update their operating system when a new version was released. Most preferred to wait to ensure there were no major issues reported by other users.
