Young attacking midfielder of Filipino descent, Dro Fernandez, is reportedly set to leave Barcelona before the January transfer window closes.
According to a report by SPORT on Saturday, Dro and his agent have decided to leave and have conveyed this decision to coach Hansi Flick.
The player's €6 million (Rp117 billion) release clause is expected to be activated soon. He will likely choose a club outside of Spain to continue his career.
Dro caught Flick's attention during pre-season. His impressive performances earned him a promotion from Barcelona's U-19 team to the first team at the start of this season.
However, after just half a season, Dro will leave the club he has played for since 2022 due to his lack of playing time.
This season, Dro has only featured for 148 minutes in five matches for Barcelona's first team.
He was twice trusted to appear as a starter, including on his Champions League debut to provide the first assist of his professional career as Barcelona thrashed Olympiacos.
