US senators write to Apple and Google over indecent AI images
Three United States senators have called on Apple and Google to remove the X and Grok apps from their app stores following widespread reports of the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to generate indecent images of women and children.

As reported by Macrumors on Monday, in a letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Senators Ron Wyden, Ben Ray Luján, and Edward Markey expressed concerns over the “mass production of non-consensual sexual images of women and children” linked to Grok’s image-making feature.

Over the past week, X has come under scrutiny after reports emerged that its Grok image-generating feature was being used to generate indecent images of women and children.
