MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi tested the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara as part of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Riders Academy program, which took place on January 29, 2026.
Rossi's presence is part of his support for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, particularly the coaching and development of young racers, including the involvement of young Indonesian racers in the academy program.
"The Mandalika Circuit is a very fast and flowing track. There are many right-hand corners, the asphalt is very good, the grip is strong, and it's not bumpy. It's a really fun circuit to ride," Rossi said in a written statement from the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (NGPA) in Central Lombok on Thursday.
Rossi visited the Mandalika circuit for the first time on January 27, 2026. This moment holds special significance, considering that Mandalika is Indonesia's pride circuit that is included in the world racing calendar and attracts the attention of major international motorsport figures.
Public attention was drawn when Rossi took to the track during today's track day session.
Even though he has retired from MotoGP, The Doctor still shows his class as the king of the racing world.
Rossi's participation on the track also provides added value for the VR46 Riders Academy racers who are currently training.
