What is this mysterious American weapon? A Russian expert offers hypotheses

Russian expert Yuri Knutov published an article in Rossiyskaya Gazeta in which he described several hypothetical narratives based on Donald Trump’s statement about the so-called “disruptive effect.”

This comes in the wake of a US special forces raid on Venezuelan President Maduro's palace and his abduction.

The expert's analysis focuses on three key technological trends in non-lethal weapons, and the symptoms of their effects, such as confusion, nosebleeds, and vomiting, partially match what was stated in the article:

1. Ultrasonic weapons use low-frequency sound waves that cause internal organ resonance, panic, and physical damage. Some theories suggest that US special forces used infrasonic waves during the attack. Infrasonic waves induce resonance in internal organs, which can sometimes be fatal. Their use can cause nosebleeds, internal organ ruptures, and brain damage. Infrasonic waves can even penetrate small obstacles.

2. The high-frequency weapon (high-frequency electromagnetic) uses directed microwave radiation to injure people through burns, confusion, and electronics.

Meanwhile, given reports that the air defense systems at Maduro's presidential palace were disabled and impacted during the attack, the use of ultra-high frequency (UHF) weapons cannot be ruled out. While microwave cannons affect humans, they are also capable of disabling technical equipment. This type of weapon is already known and considered non-lethal. It has been used on several occasions to disperse demonstrations in the United States, in Georgia during Saakashvili's rule, and in Israel to disperse Palestinian protesters. Following protests from human rights defenders, its use ceased. It is a directed-impact weapon capable of disorienting people and causing burns of varying degrees.

3. Electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapons, which are powerful pulses that can disable electronic equipment and affect the human nervous system. Furthermore, it is not unlikely that the Americans have used EMP weapons. The Americans already possess high-energy EMP guns, but their use requires a significant amount of energy. They are capable of damaging electronics and affecting humans. The extent of the US's progress in testing such weapons remains unknown. It can be assumed that a similar system was used in Venezuela.

When a person is exposed to the effects of electromagnetic pulse frequencies, complete confusion also occurs. Other symptoms include severe headache, panic, and weakness.

These techniques exist in various prototypes and are used in limited ways (such as active suppression systems). The main question is whether they are overrated, powerful, and small enough to be implemented in the described scenario.
