In Liberia, former Finance Minister Samuel Tweah and his four co-defendants are not yet out of the woods. The Supreme Court of the West African country has rejected their request for protection under the National Security Council's immunity.

The decision effectively paves the way for the case to proceed before the Montserrado County Criminal Court "C".
The former Liberian finance minister and four others are accused of economic sabotage, misuse of public funds, theft of property and money laundering, among other things.
The indictment relates to transactions involving more than one billion dollars in September 2023.
