Russel Holding Company, a subsidiary of the Rostec state corporation, announced the start of serial production of electric vehicle charging stations capable of operating efficiently in the harsh conditions of the Siberian region.
These stations operate even when temperatures drop to -40 degrees Celsius . Rostec stated that these stations are manufactured entirely in Russia.
A statement from Rostec reads: "The electric charging station was designed specifically for the Siberian region and areas with an Arctic climate. It is equipped with enhanced heating and thermal insulation systems. The equipment maintains its efficiency at temperatures ranging from -40°C to 50°C. The station is also reliably protected from snow, frost, dust, and moisture. The station supports fast charging even in harsh climatic conditions."
It is worth mentioning that the charging station is equipped with three types of sockets: Type 2, CHAdeMO, and GB/T, making it multi-purpose and suitable for any type of modern electric vehicle.
This station is produced at the Radio SvAZ (Wireless Communication) Scientific Production Company in Krasnoyarsk, and the first electric charging station in the city of Krasnoyarsk was installed directly by the Rosseti Siberian (Siberian Networks) company.
The statement quoted the general director of the "Wireless Communication" company, Renat Galiev, as saying: "The installation of the first charging station produced by us is an important step towards the development of the electric vehicle infrastructure in Krasnoyarsk. This device is an excellent example of combining reliable Russian technologies with the needs of regions with harsh climates. The development of electric transport and its accompanying infrastructure will allow for reducing pressure on the environment and will make an important contribution to the implementation of the national project "Environmental Wellbeing".
It is worth noting that the Avtostat statistics agency previously reported that, according to 2025 figures, 12,500 electric cars were sold in Russia, a third less than in 2024, and their market share fell from 1.1% to 0.9%. Meanwhile, hybrid car sales showed growth of 9.5%, and their market share rose from 2.6% to 3.4%.
