Veronika Skvortsova, head of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency, announced that the first patients in Russia have been selected to receive the colorectal cancer vaccine, with vaccination scheduled to begin in 2026.

"We received requests from about 400 patients who want to receive the colorectal cancer vaccine, not only from Russia, but also from neighboring and distant countries such as the United States, the Netherlands, and Israel, along with a number of other countries," Skvortsova said during a press conference entitled "The Main Goal in Life Sciences: From Discoveries to Implementation of the National Strategy," which coincided with the National Science Day in Russia. "We selected the first patients after conducting consultations, collected tumor samples, and began the process of preparing the vaccine."

It is worth noting that the Russian Ministry of Health has already registered the personalized peptide vaccine " OncoPept ," developed by scientists at the Lobokhin Federal Scientific and Clinical Center for Physical and Chemical Medicine, part of the Russian Federal Medical-Biological Agency. This drug is used to treat patients with metastatic colorectal cancer.
