For Rybakina, the WTA 1000 Doha was her first event since lifting the Australian Open trophy. The world number three cruised through her opening match with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Wang Xinyu, which also marked the milestone of her 400th career match win.
"That's a good statistic. There's been a lot of matches played. But yeah, it's amazing. I'm happy to be playing again and I feel happy. I enjoy every time I step on the court now," said Rybakina, as quoted by the WTA on Wednesday.
