The Ministry of Communication and Digital stated that the process of establishing the Personal Data Protection Agency is targeted for completion this year.
Alexander Sabar, Director General of Digital Space Supervision at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, explained that the government is currently drafting a Presidential Regulation (Perpres) on the Personal Data Protection Agency. This regulation implements the mandate of the PDP Law to establish an agency to carry out personal data protection functions.
"The draft Presidential Regulation on the Personal Data Protection Agency was prepared to implement the mandate of the PDP Law to establish an agency that carries out the function of protecting personal data," Alexander said in a meeting with Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex.
