Indonesian tennis player Aldila Sutjiadi advanced to the semifinals of the WTA 125 doubles event in Austin after battling through a super tie-break in the quarterfinals in Austin, Texas.
Paired with Croatian tennis player Petra Marcinko, Aldila managed to beat the Japanese-Norwegian duo Shuko Aoyama/Ulrikke Eikeri with a final score of 6-7(7), 6-3, 10-5, according to WTA records.
The first set was a tight affair, with both pairs vying for points at 3-3. Aldila/Marcinko capitalized on their serve, firing an ace and hitting 70 percent of their first serves.
However, Aoyama/Eikeri excelled in their return, hitting 83.3 percent of their second-ball points, and converted three of their seven break-point opportunities. They won seven of their 11 tie-break points to take the first set.
