The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) is collaborating with Lenovo as the sole technology partner to support the 2026 World Cup.
Lenovo's Chief Technology and Delivery Officer for Solutions & Services Group, Art Hu, said that Lenovo will use the latest technology to help manage the operational complexity of the world's largest football tournament.
"Lenovo is FIFA's first technology partner at the global level. Therefore, we must build trust by leveraging the power of artificial intelligence (AI) technology," said Art Hu at the Lenovo Tech World 2026 event in Hong Kong.
He explained that the complexity of organizing the 2026 World Cup far exceeds that of previous tournaments.
With 104 matches spread across 16 cities in three countries, various operational aspects such as competition supervision, referees, coaches, online security, official broadcasts, and physical security at the stadiums must be well integrated.
