Four Gulf states targeted by Iranian attacks: injuries in Saudi Arabia and Dubai, and a fire on a Kuwaiti tanker

The UAE announced that four people were injured  in a fire that broke out in a house in the Emirate of Dubai as a result of a fragment falling from an aerial interception, while a Kuwaiti oil tanker off the coast of Dubai was attacked by a drone, which led to a fire and material damage to it.

This comes as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have been subjected to several missile and drone attacks since dawn , and sirens sounded in Bahrain warning of a possible attack, as the Israeli-American war on Iran enters its 32nd day.

The UAE
Four people were injured when shrapnel fell on homes in a neighborhood in southern Dubai, United Arab Emirates, authorities said, amid continued Iranian attacks toward Gulf states.

The Dubai Government Media Office wrote in a post on the X platform: “The competent authorities have confirmed that an incident resulting from debris falling on a number of residential homes” in southern Dubai is being dealt with, “causing damage to the homes and 4 minor injuries to people of Asian nationality.”

Earlier, the Dubai Media Office stated that authorities responded to a fire that broke out in an abandoned house in the Al Bidaa area, caused by shrapnel from an air defense interception exercise. The statement added that four people sustained minor injuries while near the house.

In a second attack, the office announced that firefighters were working to extinguish a fire that broke out on a Kuwaiti oil tanker in Dubai waters after it was targeted by a drone. It confirmed that all 24 crew members were safe and unharmed.

About two hours after the initial announcement of the attack, the office reported in an update that firefighters had managed to extinguish the fire that broke out on the Kuwaiti tanker.

For its part, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation announced in a statement that one of its tankers was subjected to Iranian aggression while it was in the port of Dubai, which resulted in a fire and material damage.

She noted that the tanker was fully loaded at the time of the incident, warning of the possibility of an oil spill in the surrounding waters.

Coinciding with news of this attack, oil futures contracts on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) rose by more than 3 percent, trading at $106.05 a barrel at 23:37 on Monday (GMT).

Brent crude rose 2.57 percent to trade at $115.35 a barrel at 23:06 on Monday (GMT).

Saudi Arabia
The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced the interception and destruction of eight ballistic missiles launched toward the Kingdom since dawn on Tuesday. It explained that seven of them targeted the Riyadh region (central Saudi Arabia), while the eighth targeted the Eastern Province.

For its part, the Saudi Civil Defense announced that two people were injured as a result of falling debris from the interception of a drone in Al-Kharj Governorate near Riyadh.

The Civil Defense stated on the X platform that “the fall of debris from intercepting a drone in Al-Kharj Governorate resulted in two minor injuries and limited material damage to 3 houses and a number of vehicles.”

This was preceded by the Saudi Civil Defense announcing that it had sounded the sirens three times, twice in Al-Kharj Governorate and once in the Eastern Province.

Kuwait
The Kuwaiti military announced that its air defenses intercepted missile and drone attacks. In a statement, it explained that the sounds of explosions heard were due to interceptions by air defense systems.

Bahrain
The Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced in a statement that sirens had been activated across the country, urging citizens and residents to immediately seek shelter in the nearest safe location, without providing further details. The sounding of sirens is typically associated with the detection of attacks.

Since February 28, the Gulf states have been subjected to Iranian attacks with missiles and drones, resulting in deaths, injuries, and damage to civilian facilities, including airports, ports, and buildings. These countries have condemned these attacks and repeatedly demanded that they be stopped.

Tehran says these attacks target “American bases and interests” in the region, in response to “Israeli-American aggression” that killed hundreds of people, including former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and security officials.
