Gasperini admits AS Roma struggled to match Bologna's physical game
AS Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini admitted his squad struggled to keep up with Bologna's physical play in the first leg of the 2025/2026 Europa League round of 16 at the Renato Dall'Ara Stadium, Bologna,  which ended 1-1.

"Bologna's game is very physical with a lot of long balls, a bit like Genoa  They made it difficult for us to penetrate the second line," said Gasperini

According to the Italian tactician, AS Roma must adopt a "rugby style" to win the second half against Bologna. While it won't be easy, Gasperini believes his players were still capable of creating chances, one of which led to Lorenzo Pellegrini's goal (71').
