It was wiped off the map- Trump attacks the media for "poor coverage" of the war on Iran

US President Donald Trump launched an attack on the New York Times in response to its news coverage of the war on Iran, deeming it an incompetent newspaper and boasting that he had "wiped Iran off the map."

The US president wrote on his social media platform "Truth Social": "The United States has taken Iran off the map, yet their weak analyst David Sanger says I have not achieved my goals."

He added: "Yes, I did it, weeks ahead of schedule! Their leadership is finished, their naval and air forces are destroyed, they have no defense at all, and they want to make a deal."

He continued: "I don't want to! We're weeks ahead of schedule. And just like their incompetent election coverage of me, the failing New York Times is always wrong."

In a related development, Axios reported, citing sources, that the Trump administration is in preliminary discussions about the next phase and format of peace talks with Iran.

Axios quoted a US official as saying that " a deal to end the war must include reopening the Strait of Hormuz, addressing Iran's stockpiles of highly enriched uranium, and establishing a long-term agreement on its nuclear program, ballistic missiles, and support for its proxies in the region."
