Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid has firmly summoned Meta and Google as a result of their non-compliance with the provisions of Government Regulation number 17 of 2025 concerning the Protection of Electronic System Governance in Child Protection and its derivative regulations.
Meutya said the two tech giants violated the provisions of the Minister of Communication and Information Regulation Number 9 of 2026, which is the implementing regulation of the Tunas PP.
"The government today sent summonses to both of them as part of implementing administrative sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations," Meutya said in a statement.
