A recent scientific study has shown that eating almonds daily helps improve skin health and reduces acne problems that some people experience in adulthood.

The study included 74 people with mild to moderate acne. Over a period of 20 weeks, one group of participants ate daily snacks containing 60g of almonds, while the other group ate daily snacks equivalent in calories but without nuts. Scientists assessed the number of pimples, skin condition, and skin microbiome composition of all participants.

The results showed that the total number of pimples decreased by 22.2% in the participants who consumed almonds daily, compared to 9.8% in the other group. Inflammatory elements also decreased in the first group, while the opposite group experienced an increase in them. In addition, skin hydration indicators improved and skin microbiome diversity increased in the participants who consumed almonds, a factor associated with improved skin health stability. Participants in the first group also reported an improvement in overall quality of life and a decrease in anxiety levels.

Researchers link these effects to almonds' rich content of antioxidants, vitamin E, beneficial fats, and micronutrients, which may contribute to reducing inflammation and influencing metabolic processes associated with acne.
