PBVSI prepares to naturalize four Brazilian players for the 2032 Olympics

The Indonesian Volleyball Association  is preparing the naturalization process for four young Brazilian players as part of a strategy to strengthen the national team in the long-term projection towards the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

Chairman of the Indonesian Football Association , Imam Sudjarwo, said the federation is currently preparing administrative requirements before discussing the plan with the government.

"All the naturalizations I've mentioned involve two sons and two daughters. We're currently in the process of preparing the administration, and I'll be meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports soon to discuss this matter," Imam said in an official statement.

He explained that after discussions with the government were completed, the naturalization process would continue through the applicable mechanisms, including submitting approval to the Indonesian House of Representatives.

Imam said naturalization was one step to improve the quality and depth of the national team squad, while also creating positive competition for local players.

"Why naturalization? Of course, we have a long process ahead of us: we want to qualify for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. So, first of all, we're preparing a strong team. Secondly, we're building motivation for our national athletes," he said.

PBVSI, he said, is targeting players aged around 17 years old so they have sufficient training time so they can achieve optimal performance by the 2032 Olympics target.

"Basically, we are taking a young age so that it has a long term," he said.
