Child and Adolescent Development Expert from Gadjah Mada University, Novi Poespita Candra, said that PP TUNAS can be a shield for parents to protect their children from the dangers of excessive social media use.
"This policy can be a gateway to collective awareness of the dangers of excessive digital use among children if they cannot manage it," Novi Poespita Candra said when contacted.
According to him, restrictive policies are indeed necessary, but it is not enough if they only focus on the prohibition aspect.
According to him, efforts to reduce the risk of gadget addiction must be strengthened from within the child through digital education and literacy.
