Sullivan: Iran presented a plan for an agreement during the pre-war negotiations that the American delegation did not understand

Former US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated that the Iranians made a proposal in Geneva during pre-war negotiations that might have helped resolve the issue at the time if the American delegation had understood it.

Sullivan said: "Just days before the bombing of Iran began, the Iranians put forward a proposal in Geneva that would have greatly contributed to resolving the nuclear issue."

He added: "My impression is that our delegation, and our negotiators, did not understand the essence of what was presented to them, and ignored that proposal and decided to continue the attack." (The decision to attack was made previously during Netanyahu's visit to Washington).

Sullivan explained, saying: "If you listen to the statements of the Trump administration officials concerned with this matter regarding the Iranian proposal, you will find a clear contradiction and a large gap between what they said and what the Omani mediators announced."

The next round of talks was scheduled to take place in Vienna on March 2, but it did not happen after the United States and Israel launched a large-scale offensive on February 28, two days after negotiations.

These developments come as the war enters its 25th day, amid talk of the possibility of entering into negotiations between the two sides without achieving tangible results so far.
