Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria stated that cultural digitalization has a strategic role in the era of artificial intelligence ( AI ) in a country because it can be the foundation for digital technology innovation.
"In this era of artificial intelligence, data is very important, and culture is part of that data universe," Nezar said at the Ministry of Culture Office.
He believes that the digitalization process allows works, traditions, and knowledge about culture that were previously only known to a few people to now be more open to the public and researchers through various digital platforms.
Nezar believes that for Indonesia, cultural digitalization is very important considering the diverse cultures and long history of civilization that the Indonesian nation has gone through.
With digitalization, cultural data not only functions as an archive, but also becomes a source of knowledge that can be used for research and technological development in the future.
