The Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs invited students to discuss the reasons for delaying social media access.
Minister of Communication and Digital  Meutya Hafid invited children currently studying in Junior High School  and Senior High School  to discuss the reasons why regulators have introduced a legal umbrella to delay access for children under 16 to social media.

In the discussion, Meutya emphasized that the regulation was not intended to prohibit children from using technology, but rather to prepare them mentally before entering the complex digital space.

"The most appropriate age to start accessing social media is considered to be around 16 years old. This is not a unilateral government decision, but the result of extensive discussions with psychologists, child development experts, and various studies on the impact of social media on child development," Meutya said in a statement confirmed.
