Digital platform X has set the minimum age limit for users in Indonesia at 16 years as part of an adjustment to Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning Governance of Electronic System Implementation in Child Protection.
Alexander Sabar, Director General of Digital Space Supervision at the Ministry of Communication and Digital , stated that this change represents a concrete step by global platforms to fulfill national regulatory obligations while simultaneously improving child protection in the digital space.
"We appreciate the concrete action taken by a form of commitment to compliance and to ensure the protection of children in the digital space," Alexander said in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.
