Zambia is not letting its guard down against the coronavirus. The country's Minister of Health announced the resumption of COVID-19 vaccinations on May 14, despite the decline in infections.
Over the past 24 hours, Zambia has recorded only 22 new cases out of 1,000 tests, representing a prevalence rate of 2%, according to figures released by the Minister of Health. Sylvia Masebo also stated that COVID-19 has claimed the lives of more than 300 healthcare workers.
During a routine briefing on the pandemic, the minister paid tribute to healthcare workers for their resilience, while also encouraging them to get vaccinated.
