Manchester City gave their guest Liverpool a harsh football lesson, after beating them 4-0 on Saturday in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
The first half saw both teams exchange control, but City were the more dangerous, opening the scoring in the 39th minute through Norwegian Erling Haaland, before the same player returned in the second minute of first-half stoppage time to score his second personal goal and the second for his team.
In the second half, Manchester City continued their attacking pressure, adding a third goal in the 50th minute through Ghanaian Anton Semenyo, before Haaland completed the rout by scoring his third personal goal of the match, a hat-trick, in the 57th minute.

Liverpool had a chance to score a face-saving goal when they were awarded a penalty in the 64th minute, but their Egyptian star Mohamed Salah failed to convert it into a goal.
With this heavy defeat, Liverpool were eliminated from the FA Cup quarter-finals, while Manchester City continued their journey towards the title.
This was Salah's first match since last week's announcement that he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the current season after nine eventful years with his prestigious club, during which he broke a large number of records and proved himself to be one of the best football stars in the world.
