The US Embassy in Morocco announced that the White House has decided to include the Kingdom in the working group for the 2026 World Cup, in a move aimed at strengthening coordination and cooperation related to the global event.

The embassy explained in a statement published via the “X” platform that this team works under the supervision of the White House, and forms a framework that brings together US federal institutions with international partners, to oversee the planning, organization and implementation processes, in order to ensure that the tournament is produced with the highest levels of efficiency and safety.

She added that Morocco’s joining this team reflects the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries, especially with the approaching celebration of 250 years of Moroccan-American relations, which opens up broader prospects for cooperation in multiple fields, including security and the exchange of expertise, in addition to strengthening sports and cultural ties.

The working group aims to facilitate coordination between various government agencies, through the exchange of information and the provision of strategic support, in order to organize a global tournament that reflects the values of openness, hospitality and security that the United States seeks to highlight during its hosting of the World Cup.
