Putri KW will use her European tour results as capital for the 2026 Asian Championships

Indonesian women's singles player Putri Kusuma Wardani is using the results of a series of European tour tournaments as capital for the 2026 Asian Championships (BAC) at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center, China on April 7–12.

Putri said her achievements in reaching the Super 300 Swiss Open final (March 10-15) and the quarterfinals of the Super 1000 All England (March 3-8) were valuable assets, although she admitted that she still had a number of shortcomings that needed to be improved, especially when appearing in the final match of the Swiss Open.

"I'm grateful to have reached the podium in Switzerland, even though I finished second. But I still have a lot of shortcomings, especially in the final. I don't think I fully unleashed my game, and my opponent also played very well," said Putri at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center.

In the 2026 Swiss Open final, Putri had to admit defeat to Thailand's Supanida Katethong after losing in two straight games with a score of 11-21, 15-21.

Meanwhile, at the All England, Putri expressed satisfaction with reaching the quarterfinals, despite losing again to world number one An Se Young from South Korea, 11-21, 14-21. She acknowledged that the experience was crucial for improving her game's consistency.

"At the All England, I was also quite happy to reach the quarterfinals. Even though I lost again, I learned a lot from that match," he said.

Putri said one of her main focuses going forward is ensuring she can give her all on the pitch without being overly burdened by the final result.
