The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) is targeting the addition of 1,000 fixed broadband internet access points as part of the Internet Village program to ensure equal connectivity down to the villages.
Singgih Yuniawan, Head of the Ministry of Communication and Digital's Fixed Broadband Infrastructure Acceleration Team , explained that the development will increase the number of internet points that have been built in 2025 by 1,282 points, bringing the total to 2,282 points.
"Yes, there's another program (to add 1,000 Internet Village points). So, in addition to the current program, the total will be 2,282 points," Singgih said when met in Setanggor Village, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on Wednesday.
Singgih added that new Internet Villages are planned for West Sumatra, North Sumatra, Kupang Regency, North Maluku, and Gorontalo. The Ministry of Communication and Digital Technology also plans to build in West Kalimantan, which is currently in the exploratory stage.
