The Ministry of Communication and Digital is conducting an in-depth investigation into the irregularities in the Indonesian Game Rating System ratings for games on the Steam platform, which are currently under public scrutiny.
Sonny Hendra Sudaryana, Director of Digital Ecosystem Development at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, stated that his office acknowledged that some games received IGRS ratings that did not reflect their content. For example, PUBG received a 3+ rating, while Upin Ipin Universe is intended for ages 18+.
"We find this very strange and very odd, which is why we are conducting this investigation to determine what the actual problem is, both internally at Komdigi and externally at Steam," said Sonny at the Komdigi office.
