The Indonesian Men's National Beach Volleyball Team used their first victory at the 2026 Asian Beach Games (ABG) in Sanya, China, as a momentum to adapt to field conditions and maintain positive results in subsequent matches.

"Our focus in the first match was to adapt to the pitch and the wind," said Indonesian Men's National Beach Volleyball Team Coach Andy Ardiansyah in an official statement from the Indonesian Olympic Committee.

The men's national team, strengthened by the pair Bintang Akbar/Sofyan Achmad, started their journey with a dominant victory over Timor Leste's representatives Joel Savio Valente/Joninho Fernandes Xavier with a score of 2-0 (21–14, 21–8).

Andy explained that his players made good use of the opening match to build their game rhythm and adapt to the field conditions.

Overall, he said, the adaptation process went quite well so that the players could perform more freely in the next match.
