According to her, the intestines help the body fully absorb essential nutrients and produce some vitamins. They also boost the immune response, improve metabolism, and influence brain function.

The doctor points out that young people are more resistant to disease thanks to their healthy gut bacteria. However, as people age, their gut microbiome weakens and deteriorates.
