American rapper Pooh Shiesty (real name Lontrell Williams Jr.), his father and six other suspects were arrested Thursday for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and robbery of Gucci Mane, which occurred last January.
Pooh Shiesty, a major figure in 2010s rap and founder of 1017 Global Music (to which he is signed), was reportedly the target of an attempted robbery to force him to leave his own label. According to authorities, the victims, who were in Dallas for legitimate business, were threatened with firearms and subjected to violence. The suspects allegedly stole Rolex watches, jewelry, cash, and other valuables. One of the victims reportedly nearly lost consciousness after being choked.
Federal prosecutor Ryan Raybould (North Texas District) was unequivocal: "This case should send a clear message: violence and intimidation are not acceptable means of resolving disputes. Those who choose this path should know that we will act swiftly and firmly to bring them to justice."
Pooh Shiesty is no stranger to legal troubles. The rapper, who rose to fame in the early 2020s, has already been involved in at least two shootings. He was sentenced to prison but released in October 2025 for good behavior, after serving three years behind bars.
