A simple way to slow down biological aging

A study conducted by scientists from the University of Sydney in Australia showed that modifying one's diet and eating healthy foods, even for a short period, can have a positive effect on the biological age of older people.

The study included 104 people aged between 65 and 75 years, who were divided into groups, each of which followed a different diet in terms of its content of fats, carbohydrates and animal protein. The participants and their health were monitored for four weeks.

To assess the changes that occurred in the participants' bodies, the researchers used more than 20 vital indicators, including cholesterol, insulin, and C-reactive protein levels. Based on these indicators, the researchers calculated what is known as biological age, an indicator that reflects the body's condition and rate of aging.

The results showed that reducing the consumption of fats or animal protein was associated with a decrease in biological age, with the most pronounced effect observed among participants who followed a diet rich in carbohydrates and containing moderate amounts of fat.

The researchers emphasize that the results are still preliminary, but the study shows that even small changes in diet can quickly affect indicators related to aging and general health.

Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko had indicated in an interview with the Novosti news agency that the increase in lifespan is not limited to advances in medicine, but is affected by many factors and lifestyle habits, such as daily lifestyle, participation in sports and cultural activities, exercise, and others.
