Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid said that as a form of fairness in the implementation of PP Tunas in the future, the government requires game developers operating in Indonesia to close communication features, including chat, for users under 16 years of age.
Meutya revealed this step after Roblox, a global gaming platform with up to 23 million child users in Indonesia, implemented a communication feature shutdown in compliance with the Tunas Government Regulation.
"Digital platforms, including games, must also comply with the Tunas Government Regulation. Because if one is intervened, for example, Roblox has complied with child protection regulations but other games have not, then it will result in a shift in children playing games and cannot resolve the problem," Meutya said at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs office.
